The game features amazing HD graphics to entertain players and onlookers, loads of fun fish characters to catch and several mini games to enjoy. The aim of the game for players is to catch as many fish as they can, and the more fish you catch, the bigger the payout will be. The value of the fish characters (how many points you'll get for catching them) depends on how big and hard to catch they are.
To start the game, players simply insert coins into the coin acceptor, then use the joystick to aim your net gun at the targets. When you're ready to fire, hit the 'SHOOT' button to try and catch the fish. There are three main guns which players can switch between at any time during the game by pressing the WEAPON change button. When you have finished, hold down the payout button for 3 seconds to get your payout.
The fish include: Clown Fish, Devilfish, Snapper, Flounder, Lantern Fish, Butterfly Fish, Lionfish, Fugu, Spearfish, Lobster, Bomb Crab, Shark, Sea Turtle, Octopus, Saw Shark, Humpback Whale and Killer Whale! Plus the latest Colorful Shell - the new Clam character.

- Lightning Chain - there are nine types of fish which are subject to Lightning Chain: Butterfly Fish, Snapper, Lionfish, Clown Fish, Fugu, Spearfish, Flounder, Lobster, and Octopus. Use the Lightning Chain to get up to nine kinds of fish at once and win extra points!
- Vortex Fish - each fish (except Devilfish, Shark, Killer Whale, Humpback Whale and Bomb Crab) have a Vortex feature. When a player picks this up, the fish with the feature at the time captures all the same fish near it for the player.
- The Bomb Crab - when the bomb crab is captured by a player it explodes and the player can get extra points form the explosion if it affects other fish.
- Colorful Shell - the new feature for Poseidon, is a bright Clam Shell with a lock on it that floats across the screen. It's hardened shell makes it hard to catch, but is worth it for the 100-500 value points!
